Heat Wave availability and processing notice

For available Heat Wave items, supplier processing is currently approximately 10 business days before shipment. Shipping/transit time is additional. The general 7–14-business-day delivery estimate shown elsewhere on this site does not apply to Heat Wave orders. Timing is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Availability varies by frame and lens option.

Heat Wave's USA Vise: the Vise silhouette in Heat Wave's first frame produced in the United States, injection-molded in California. Gloss black TR90 Grilamid frame with the gold palm emblem, rated ANSI Z87.

Note: the USA Vise is not compatible with the Vise side shields.

The Straight Read

The Vise wearing the flag, loud and proud, and nobody who buys it wants it quieter. Same Z87 coverage, maximum statement. Want the statement turned down? The gloss black Vise runs silent.

ANSI Z87 Safety (where applicable)

Listed certification: ANSI Z87. Check this product’s specifications, the complete pair’s markings and your workplace requirements. Oakley Meta and other consumer-grade smart frames are not Z87-rated, check the product specs for each model.

Shipping & Returns

Free shipping on every order within the US, no minimum. Ships from Phoenix. Heat Wave items that need to be ordered from the supplier currently have an estimated 10-business-day supplier processing time before shipment. Transit time and any prescription-lens production are additional. Availability varies by frame and lens option; this is not a guaranteed delivery date. Need it by a date? Email orders@chaosrxoptics.com before ordering and we will confirm. Returns accepted within 45 days.

Why buy here instead of the brand site? CHAOSRXOptics compares Z87+ frames across Heat Wave, Wiley X, Oakley, Smith, Spy, and Wye/Delta, then points you toward the frame, fit, and lens that actually fits the job. If a Wiley X makes more sense than the Heat Wave you came for, we will say so.

Prescription lenses are custom-made and cannot be restocked. If the prescription is wrong or the fit fails on a corporate Rx order, we remake it through the program process.

Impact rating

Z87 and Z87+ are not the same rating.

ANSI Z87.1 sets two tiers. The plus is earned in two extra tests. This is what they look like.

Listed certification: ANSI Z87

Check the product markings and your workplace's protection requirements.

Animations depict the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 impact test protocol: basic drop ball, 25.4 mm steel ball from 127 cm; high velocity, 6.35 mm steel ball at 45.7 m/s (spectacles); high mass, 500 g pointed projectile from 127 cm. Animations explain the test protocol; check product markings for the applicable certification.
