Not darker. Sharper.

Why it matters

Two color bands blur together. ChromaPop splits them.

ChromaPop is for the shopper who wants sun protection without losing the part of the view they came for: color, texture, contrast, and the detail that vanishes behind a flat gray tint.

ContrastColor separation stays sharp.
DepthTerrain and texture stay readable.
ComfortCuts the harsh glare on long days.

Lens demo

Drag to see the color separate.

Left is a flat dark tint. Right is the same scene treated like a ChromaPop view: cleaner color separation, sharper contrast, less visual mud. It shows the idea, not a lab capture.

How it works

It filters the two bands where your eye blurs color.

Smith built ChromaPop around the two narrow bands where your eye gets confused: where blue blurs into green, and where green blurs into red. Filter those two and colors stop smearing together.

Blue Green Red FILTERED FILTERED ChromaPop dims the two zones where colors overlap, so they read as separate.
1

Targets two crossover bands.

ChromaPop filters the narrow slices where blue bleeds into green and green bleeds into red, the two spots where the eye loses track of color.

2

Colors come back separated.

Reds, greens, and browns read as distinct instead of blending, so foliage, terrain, and painted metal gain definition.

3

Contrast without going flat-dark.

You get depth and detail, not just a dimmer view. Polarized and Z87 options add glare and impact protection on top.

Quick answers

Before you pick a lens.

Is ChromaPop the same as polarized?

No. ChromaPop is Smith's contrast lens technology. Some ChromaPop options are also polarized, which adds glare reduction for water, road, and snow. Our full ChromaPop breakdown covers the difference.

Does ChromaPop come in a Z87 safety lens?

Yes. Frames like the Smith Arena Elite pair ChromaPop with a Z87-rated frame, so you get the lens tech and the impact rating a shop or job site needs. See the Smith Optics safety guide.

Which ChromaPop tint should I pick?

Bright steady light, ChromaPop Black. Mixed outdoor light, a brown tint. Gray or changing light, a low-light or photochromic option. The tint guide walks through each one.

Is CHAOSRXOptics an authorized dealer?

Yes. We sell genuine Smith Optics eyewear, with free US shipping on every order.
