The Shocktube is Oakley Standard Issue in its most recognizable form: a wraparound ballistic shield that takes a hit and keeps the field of view wide. Built to the SI ballistic standard, it runs thin at the temples so it sits under ear protection and a helmet without fighting them.

Issue specs

ANSI Z87.1 high-velocity and high-mass impact rated
Ballistic protection tested to U.S. MIL-PRF-31013
Plutonite lenses block 100% of UVA, UVB, UVC, and harmful blue light
Thin temples clear over-ear hearing protection and comms
Unobtainium nose pads grip harder as you sweat

Part of the Standard Issue program. Oakley Standard Issue is the line Oakley builds for people who do not get to pick their conditions: military, law enforcement, fire, and EMS. Same Plutonite lenses, same impact pedigree, issued instead of advertised. We carry it for the crews who treat eye protection like the rest of their kit, because a tire bay asks a lot of the same questions a duty day does.

The Straight Read

The most recognizable shape in Standard Issue: a wraparound ballistic shield rated to ANSI Z87.1 for high-velocity and high-mass impact, with thin temples that slide under ear protection and comms. Duty and range equipment first. Want the low-profile version that does not announce itself? The SI Ballistic HNBL.

ANSI Z87 Safety (where applicable)

Specs & Fit

Listed certification: ANSI Z87. Check this product’s specifications, the complete pair’s markings and your workplace requirements. Anti-fog, polarized, and mirror options vary by model. Fit runs unisex, medium to large.

Shipping & Returns

Free shipping on every order within the US, no minimum. Ships from Phoenix. Most orders arrive in 7-14 business days. Need it by a date? Email orders@chaosrxoptics.com before ordering and we will confirm. Returns accepted within 45 days.

Why buy here instead of the brand site? CHAOSRXOptics compares Z87+ frames across Heat Wave, Wiley X, Oakley, Smith, Spy, and Wye/Delta, then points you toward the frame, fit, and lens that actually fits the job. If a Wiley X makes more sense than the Heat Wave you came for, we will say so.

Prescription lenses are custom-made and cannot be restocked. If the prescription is wrong or the fit fails on a corporate Rx order, we remake it through the program process.

Impact rating

Z87 and Z87+ are not the same rating.

ANSI Z87.1 sets two tiers. The plus is earned in two extra tests. This is what they look like.

Listed certification: ANSI Z87, Ballistic

Check the product markings and your workplace's protection requirements.

Animations depict the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 impact test protocol: basic drop ball, 25.4 mm steel ball from 127 cm; high velocity, 6.35 mm steel ball at 45.7 m/s (spectacles); high mass, 500 g pointed projectile from 127 cm. Animations explain the test protocol; check product markings for the applicable certification.
