Heat Wave availability and processing notice

For available Heat Wave items, supplier processing is currently approximately 10 business days before shipment. Shipping/transit time is additional. The general 7–14-business-day delivery estimate shown elsewhere on this site does not apply to Heat Wave orders. Timing is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Availability varies by frame and lens option.

Vapor Clear Frame / Clear Lens (12567-007): Currently sold out at the supplier. No confirmed restock date. This notice applies to this frame/lens option only.

The Vise, upgraded. Same flat-top rectangular silhouette, now with new performance arms, a Quick-Latch side-shield system that snaps on without tools, and Hytrel® rubber inserts in the arms and nose bridge for a grip that holds through a full shift.

Available in black frame, tortoise frame, or vapor clear frame. The vapor clear options come in clear lens, clear anti-fog, and black polarized, the transparent frame with whatever lens the job calls for.

Z87+ with side shields installed. The safety mark is on the frame.

The Straight Read

The bay-floor standard, and it earned it: motorsport wraparound coverage, Z87 rated, and it looks fast standing still. Built for regular to wide faces. Narrower face? The Rayth gives you the same Heat Wave DNA in a leaner cut.

ANSI Z87+ Safety (where applicable)

Listed certification: ANSI Z87+. Check this product’s specifications, the complete pair’s markings and your workplace requirements. Oakley Meta and other consumer-grade smart frames are not Z87-rated, check the product specs for each model.

Specs & Fit

Listed certification: ANSI Z87+. Check this product’s specifications, the complete pair’s markings and your workplace requirements. Anti-fog, polarized, and mirror options vary by model. Fit runs unisex, medium to large.

Shipping & Returns

Free shipping on every order within the US, no minimum. Ships from Phoenix. Heat Wave items that need to be ordered from the supplier currently have an estimated 10-business-day supplier processing time before shipment. Transit time and any prescription-lens production are additional. Availability varies by frame and lens option; this is not a guaranteed delivery date. Need it by a date? Email orders@chaosrxoptics.com before ordering and we will confirm. Returns accepted within 45 days.

Why buy here instead of the brand site? CHAOSRXOptics compares Z87+ frames across Heat Wave, Wiley X, Oakley, Smith, Spy, and Wye/Delta, then points you toward the frame, fit, and lens that actually fits the job. If a Wiley X makes more sense than the Heat Wave you came for, we will say so.

Prescription lenses are custom-made and cannot be restocked. If the prescription is wrong or the fit fails on a corporate Rx order, we remake it through the program process.

ANSI Z87+

Check the frame and lens markings and confirm the complete pair meets your workplace requirements.

Impact rating

Z87 and Z87+ are not the same rating.

ANSI Z87.1 sets two tiers. The plus is earned in two extra tests. This is what they look like.

Listed certification: ANSI Z87+

Check the product markings and your workplace's protection requirements.

Animations depict the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 impact test protocol: basic drop ball, 25.4 mm steel ball from 127 cm; high velocity, 6.35 mm steel ball at 45.7 m/s (spectacles); high mass, 500 g pointed projectile from 127 cm. Animations explain the test protocol; check product markings for the applicable certification.
